Pafra’s ISO14001 Environmental Accreditation

Pafra Adhesives has been awarded ISO14001 accreditation following a British Standard BS8555 self-assessment and improvement programme. The standard links Environmental Management Systems (EMS) (ISO 14001) and Environmental Performance Evaluation (ISO 14031) and provides for focused training, auditing and implementation at each level and supports relationships between suppliers and customers.

The programme was overseen by our Compliance Manager, Dr Andy Steward and took approximately 18 months to complete. Every part of the company was assessed, leading to the implementation of changes in all areas, including factory waste removal system, office waste paper disposal, water conservation measures throughout the whole building, draught exclusion and an investment in a new drainage system in the factory floor and a complete renewal of our heating system, which was changed from oil and electricity to gas.
